Everything you need to know about C-Brace
C-Brace is the world's first microprocessor-controlled KAFO (knee-ankle-foot orthosis) for people with partial leg paralysis. It uses sensors and adaptive hydraulics to help users walk on slopes, stairs and uneven ground — hands-free. Indications include incomplete spinal cord injury (L1–L5), post-polio syndrome, and partial paralysis from neurological conditions.
No. C-Brace is designed for incomplete paralysis only. Candidates need some residual hip and trunk function, minimal spasticity, and a stable medical condition. Your orthotist will assess your candidacy in detail during the consultation.
Approximately 24 hours of normal use on a full charge. The Cockpit app shows the remaining battery level in real time, and the included charger fully recharges the orthosis overnight.
C-Brace is not currently covered by Türkiye's SGK. Some international insurers cover all or part of the cost. We provide all invoices and medical documentation needed for your insurance claim or reimbursement application.
Typical stay: 7–10 days. This includes initial assessment and casting (days 1–2), C-Brace fabrication (days 3–5), fitting and Cockpit app setup (days 6–7), and gait training and rehabilitation (days 7–10). Your personalised schedule is shared before arrival.
Yes. As an authorised Ottobock.care centre, Proklinik stocks original C-Brace spare parts and provides on-site service. Our orthotists can adjust your settings, replace components and update software locally.
The Cockpit app runs on both iOS (iPhone) and Android phones. Your orthotist will help you install it, pair it with your C-Brace and configure your personal modes during the fitting.
Yes. C-Brace has dedicated modes for cycling, fitness and other sports. Many users return to hiking, cycling, yoga and tandem cycling. Your orthotist will configure sport-specific modes during your fitting.
C-Brace has IP54 protection — splash-proof and dust-resistant — so it handles rain, sweat and outdoor conditions. It is not designed for full immersion or swimming.
C-Brace comes with a 2-year manufacturer warranty from Ottobock, valid at every Ottobock.care centre worldwide. Proklinik provides 1 year of remote follow-up support included in your package.
