Everything you need to know
A bionic (myoelectric) hand uses sensors that read muscle signals from your residual limb to control multiple grip patterns. Ottobock pioneered modern bionic hands and the bebionic platform offers 14 individually programmable grip patterns.
Typical stay: 5–7 days. This includes initial assessment (day 1), socket fitting and grip-pattern programming (days 2–3), occupational rehabilitation (days 4–6) and final review (day 7). Your personalised schedule is shared before arrival.
Costs vary by device (bebionic, Michelangelo, Speedhand). Our all-inclusive packages cover device, fitting, accommodation, transfers and rehabilitation — typically 40–60% less than comparable European or US clinics. Request a personalised quote via the form.
Bionic hand fitting is entirely non-surgical. If you've already had an amputation, there is no additional surgery — only precision socket fitting, grip programming and occupational rehabilitation. Any discomfort during initial training is normal and minimal.
Our team offers full support in English, Turkish, German, Arabic, French and Russian. Additional languages are available on request through professional medical interpreters.
We meet patients at both. SAW (Sabiha Gökçen) is on the Asian side and only 20 minutes by VIP transfer from the Altunizade clinic and hotel — our first recommendation for the shortest transfer. IST (Istanbul Airport) is on the European side, has the wider flight network, and is about 40 minutes by VIP transfer to Altunizade. Whichever airport you arrive at, your coordinator will be there to meet you.
First-year remote follow-ups are included in your package. In-person revisits are welcome — we maintain your full medical record and grip-pattern data. Many patients combine adjustments with Istanbul tourism.
While we don't directly bill international insurers, we provide all invoices and medical documentation needed for your insurance claim or NHS / GKV reimbursement application. Our patient coordinator can guide you through the process.
