Introduction
Comfortable, intuitive and precise — the bebionic is transforming the lives and abilities of amputees around the world. From helping them perform simple tasks like tying their shoelaces to giving them back their control and self-esteem.
With 14 different grips and hand positions, the bebionic multi-grip hand makes it easy to carry out day-to-day activities such as eating meals, carrying bags, opening doors and switching on lights.
Benefits

Individual motors in each finger allow you to precisely control the hand and grasp objects in a natural looking, coordinated way. Proportional speed control gives you to manage delicate tasks.

The fingers on the new bebionic hand passively move to give the user a more natural appearance. They also yield when they brush against people or unintentionally bump into objects and fold away to protect the mechanics of the hand.

Together with Ottobock pattern recognition, the Myo Plus control gives the bebionic hand entirely new options for intuitive, natural movements without switching hands.

Just one Bluetooth adapter is required to easily connect to the bebalance+ adjustment software.

The bebionic hand is compatible with the DynamicArm elbow joint, providing a premium solution for transhumeral and shoulder disarticulation amputees.

The bebionic is now even better equipped to keep up with the busyness of everyday life with double the stand-by time, so you can keep doing what you love for longer. The synchronisation of the fingers has also been updated, guaranteeing the correct finger position and movement in the different grip patterns and resulting in longer battery life.

The fingertip palps on the new bebionic are now thicker, more durable and resistant to wear and tear. So no matter the challenge, this update ensures the bebionic stays looking great. In addition, a smart phone or tablet touch screen can now be used with the small bebionic hand.

The new bebionic features an updated gaiter into the design of the hand, which has a smoother coating to the outer surface, allowing a significant reduction in friction so everyday tasks, such as putting clothing on and off, is now much easier.

The Ottobock warranty and care packages have been designed to make your life easier, and now even cover accidental mechanical damage. You receive free repairs and maintenance during the warranty period, plus a free loaner unit while maintenance and repairs are being carried out.
Grips
The bebionic multi-grip hand has 14 different selectable grips and hand positions for a high degree of flexibility in everyday life and a wide range of different activities such as eating meals, carrying bags, opening doors and switching on lights.
Design
The new novel automotive coating is available in two colour options; Polar White and Matte Black. Both colours have been finished in a high quality coating to give the bebionic a modern sleek design.

We understand that users don't just want a hand that is functional, but one that also looks great with or without a cosmetic glove. The bebionic has a natural, anatomic appearance. The aluminium knuckles blend to give tendon-shaped geometry while the push button is framed by flowing lines.

Interchangeable Fingers
Many changes in the new bebionic hand focus on improved user experience and maximising the time you have with the hand. This includes a new interchangeable modular finger that, in case of damage, can be serviced in your prosthetic clinic by a certified prosthetist in just a few minutes.
If an extended warranty was purchased with your bebionic hand, any damaged fingers that need to be replaced during the warranty period can be done so free of charge.

Options
The new bebionic comes with a choice of 3 different wrist options, with varying structural heights meaning the bebionic can be tailored to your amputation level. Each wrist option offers a varying degree of motion, helping to reduce shoulder pain from overcompensation.

The bebionic hand is suitable for all users who have intact muscle activity in one or more muscles in the residual limb. The bebionic hand is especially suitable for users with low to moderate activity levels, as heavy activity should be avoided.
The bebionic hand is fitted by a certified prosthetist at your local limb centre or prosthetic clinic. Prosthetists have to be officially certified to fit a bebionic hand. If your prosthetist is not trained, then we will happily arrange that for them with our Academy clinicians.
Every user has different needs and learns at different speeds. Just like the old saying — practice makes perfect! Usually, it only takes a few moments to start to open and close the hand the first time you use it, but to perfect these movements for use in everyday life it can take a few weeks of training and practice with your prosthetist.
A fitting includes all the components integrated into a socket, a customised socket and the correct settings for the hand, which will be adjusted by your prosthetist. The assembly and training with the prosthesis are part of this, as well as regular services and check-ins.
The operating time of the battery in the prosthesis depends largely on how the prosthesis is used in day-to-day life. On average, the battery will last a whole day. We recommend charging the battery every day. This ensures that the prosthesis is always ready to use.
Yes, the bebionic can be used without a glove. However, we do recommend that you use a glove if you will be using it in potentially damp or dirty environments.
When muscles contract, they generate a very small electric current. Your prosthetist will place electrodes in your prosthesis that rest on the surface of your skin. These electrodes pick up the electric signals and convert them to movement of the hand, wrist or elbow. The movements in the prosthesis are proportional to the contraction of your muscle — if you contract your muscle quickly, the hand will open or close quickly.
Ottobock has developed the ErgoArm and DynamicArm elbow components for amputations above the elbow joint. Your prosthetist will advise you in detail and answer all your questions regarding a possible fitting.
The bebionic hand offers 14 different gripping options. You and your prosthetist can select a total of eight of these options. You can see the different grips under the Grips tab.
No, you cannot shower or bathe with the bebionic hand. There are no standard prosthesis components for showering and swimming. We would recommend speaking to your prosthetist about making individual adaptations.
A touchscreen can be used with the small bebionic hand if no glove is worn.
