Felicja walking with her C-Leg 4

Real Life Stories

Felicja's C-Leg Story.

Felicja's way forward — quiet fire, big strides.

Felicja — quiet fire, every day.

Felicja, 13, from Surrey, was diagnosed with osteosarcoma at age 9. After a knee replacement and a complicating infection, she made the brave decision — driven by a desire for a more active life — to have her left leg amputated above the knee, just after her tenth birthday.

She started with a mechanical knee, then a blade. In 2023, at age 11, she was fitted with her own C-Leg 4 microprocessor knee. The C-Leg 4's patented technology adapts to a user's unique gait pattern and walking speeds, letting Felicja focus on where she wants to go, not on her next step.

“She can do everything she wants to do, and she does,” her dad Bartosz says. Felicja walks fast, covers long distances easily and moves between classes at school with confidence. She wears her C-Leg every day — putting it on at six in the morning and not taking it off until bedtime.

Between rugby, football, TikTok, music and clothes shopping, Felicja's world is colourful, loud and limitless. “She doesn't tell you she's strong, she shows you, every time she puts on her C-Leg and walks out the door to live her life.”
