Real Life Stories
Halle's Kenevo Story.
Confident steps, big dreams.
Hallé Sheedy — confident steps.
At just 15 years old, Hallé Sheedy has a lot to look forward to. Diagnosed with osteosarcoma in 2023, she underwent an above-knee amputation in January 2024. Just three months later, she was fitted with her first prosthesis — the Kenevo microprocessor knee — and began taking her first steps toward a new kind of independence.
Paired with a Varos socket, which helps manage stump volume fluctuations, the combination has given Hallé both comfort and confidence. Even after a revision surgery in early 2025, she was quickly back on her feet, moving forward with her usual determination. She has spent recent years schooling at home to better balance hospital appointments — but she has now set her sights on college, planning to study hair and beauty.
The Kenevo's intuitive assisted descent on ramps and anti-stumble feature make day-to-day life easier. The Varos socket lets her adjust her socket's circumference throughout the day, so she's less likely to feel discomfort and can wear her prosthesis longer. “There have been a few occasions where we've said, 'Cor, your leg is quicker thinking than you are!'”
Animals are a huge part of Hallé's life. With three dogs and a newfound love of horse riding, she's constantly on the move. She and her mum compete in dog shows and are aiming to qualify for Crufts, where Hallé hopes to become the first junior handler with a prosthetic leg.
